November 10, 2019 by Gaurav Jain Leave a Comment

This week WhatsApp rolled out three important features; two are for WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business, and one is for WhatsApp Business App.

If you are using WhatsApp Business then this new rolled out feature will make your life easy.

On 8th November, WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business rolled out two privacy settings globally. With these two newly rolled out features you can:

  1. Control the Group Invites
  2. Enable Finger Lock security

1. Control The Group Invites

Have you ever been invited to a group which is not at all relevant to you?

WhatsApp Group

Or your friend was trying to create a Broadcast List and invited you to a group mistakenly and everyone started leaving the group?

Have you ever thought of a feature, where you can control who can invite you to a group?

So, here is a Good News for you! WhatsApp has recently rolled out the Privacy settings that lets you control who can invite you to the group.

To enable this setting, visit – How to restrict someone from Adding you to a Group on WhatsApp?

2. Enable Fingerprint Lock Security

On daily basis, users on WhatsApp interact a lot, which includes private conversations, images or videos, confidential documents and a lot more.

Your password may get revealed while entering it again and again in public or even sometimes you tell the password to someone and forget to change it, which makes your WhatsApp Conversations vulnerable to getting leaked.

3. Product Catalogue on WhatsApp Business

WhatsApp Business is playing a big role not just for Brands but also for Small Businesses. Big brands like RBL Bank, MakeMyTrip, BookMyShow and many others can afford creating and customising Chat Bots, which is not an easy task for Small Businesses.

Now you can create Product Catalogue on WhatsApp Business. Earlier, when customer sends an enquiry about the product, business owners used to forward them the Website Link for details.

Even if they don’t have a website then they just send the images. But after Product catalogue feature Small Businesses have the power to showcase their product in a better way.

Product Catalogue enables you send:

  • Product/Service Images
  • Product/Service Name
  • Price (Optional)
  • Description of Product/Service
  • Link: You can add link to your product and service
  • You can also add Product or Service Code just like SKU Code.

With the launch of Product Catalogue, WhatsApp Business has moved one more step ahead for Advertisement on Platform.

Is WhatsApp heading towards Advertisements?

Since Facebook is already rolling out you to connect your WhatsApp Business to Facebook Page. In some Facebook Ad Account they have rolled out the CTA to send traffic to your WhatsApp Business Account.

Facebook started with Catalogue feature on WhatsApp and Instagram Shop feature is already getting rolled out slowly. So, in near future you will be able to integrate Facebook Catalogue, Instagram Shop Catalogue and WhatsApp Product Catalogue at one place.

And we already know “Necessity is the mother of invention“. So as a WhatsApp Business user, you will also need to advertise it since you have a Product catalogue and this is the what the giant platform wants.
